The Catalina Art Festival is this weekend.

This year’s Art Festival Poster Contest winner was Kyberlee Stanley. (The festival starts today, Friday, Sept. 17.) Her booth will be located by the fountain. This year we will have the Catalina Craft Corner which is located next to the US Bank. There will be local crafters in this area as well as Jason Green doing a painting workshop from 2-4 p.m., on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The cost is $20 per person. Kelly Callahan Skoff will have rock painting at her booth. There will be a sand artist on the stage and sand toys along the side of the stage for kids of all ages to play with. The Kids Art Show is on Saturday from 10-2 p.m. . All school aged kids are welcome to enter their artwork for that portion of the contest. Saturday at 3 p.m., on the Wrigley Stage is where the winners of the Art Festival will be announced. The event will have more than 50 booths this year and everyone has been busy and creative. Come walk front street and see Art in Avalon.
