Brian Dawes, vice president of Avalon Baseball, recently received a donation from Yacht Club Commodore Steve Shae provided by way of the club’s charitable foundation. The 62-year-old Avalon baseball program has been overseen by Dawes and Baseball Commissioner Richard Hernandez for the past 22 years. The donation will help fund equipment purchases and travel to the mainland.
