Water level continues to increase slightly

Avalon’s water level has increased a bit since last week. In related news, the National Weather service is forecasting wet days.

That said, Avalon residents should keep thier umbrellas handy and continue saving water.

Water level inches up

“As of January 9, 2023 the current water elevation at Middle Ranch Reservoir is 649.95 feet above sea level. This equates to a storage capacity of 456.41 acre-feet,” according to a Jan. 9 email from Southern California Edison.

One acre foot of water is enough water to submerge 1 flat acre of land 1 foot deep.

The Jan. 4 measurement equated to 441.73 acre-feet.

The Dec. 21, 2022 the water storage capacity at 427.96 acre-feet.

As of Jan. 12, the National Weather Service forecast for Los Angeles/Oxnard (which the NWS provided as the forecast office for Avalon) was:
