Team wins men’s golf tournament with three under par

The Catalina Men’s Golf Club held its first golf tournament of 2013 on Sunday, Jan. 27. Thirty-two members playing on four-man teams participated in a Pink Ball Format.  Each hole, a different member of the team plays the hole with one of three allotted team Pink Balls posting a net score, while the other three members of the team not playing the Pink Ball post the two lowest of three net scores for that hole.  Each hole a different member of the team plays the Pink Ball.

Capturing the sole 1st Place Award for the Pink Ball Net score was the team of Geoff Knowles, Steve Jordan, Beto Campos and Rick Spruell, they posted a score of 61, three under par.  In the two lowest of three other net scores, the team of Francisco Bravo, Juan Rodriguez, Ron Bevins and Jim Johnson took 1st Place shooting a 111 Net score, 17 under Par.  In 2nd Place scoring a 117, or 11 under Par were Tino Rodriguez, Roberto Tejeda, Marty Saldana and Jose Guzman.

Next month’s tournament will be held on Sunday, Feb. 24.  The format will be a One-Man Scramble with tee times starting at 10 a.m. More information can be found on the Men’s Club website:
