The Annual Spring Fest on April 18 brought the City downtown to enjoy local foods, fun, and music. With more than 38 booths, there was enough local vendors to fill everyone’s belly with tacos, enchiladas, pasta, sweet treats and other great flavorful delights.

There was the Fun Zone where you, the kids, or the kid in you could play many Carnival games from doughnut eating race, rubber ducky race, or the classic ring toss and more. There was also a petting zoo with pygmy goats, chickens, Macaws, Rabbits and large lizards.

Also in the Fun Zone were many arts and crafts interactive booths from the Pollination Station to the Flow Art. Providing the ambience and entertainment for the night was Catalina Cruise Control with its Classic Rock sounds.

For the first time the City held its first annual Farm Animal imitation contest and five-year-old Haley from Huntington Beach won with her fine imitation of a piggy. Succeeding the Imitation Contest was the Blueberry Pie eating contest won by local student J.C. Mulgado who finished it in 23 seconds. Participants had won Rock Climbing Wall and Movie Tickets provided by CICO.

The city of Avalon would like to thank everyone who participated and helped make this one of the best and safe Spring Fest.
