The city of Avalon is holding registration for upcoming sports programs.
Avalon Youth Soccer League: Registration is open. Ages 4-14. Evaluation day is Sept. 12. First game is Sept. 19. To sign up or for more information go to recreation.cityofavalon.com.
3V3 Basketball Tournament: Avalon’s first 3V3 Basketball Tournament at Knabe Park on Sunday Sept. 5. Will be playing under FIBA 3V3 rules. Three divisions 8-11 year olds, 12-15 year olds, and 16 and up. Grab your team of four (three players and a sub) and sign up at City Hall or on Friday the Aug. 27 and Sept. 3 from 12 to 3 p.m. at the courts. It’s just $20 a team. Movies on the Beach: This Wednesday will be the last Movie on the Beach this Summer on South Beach. The city is going all out showing “Frozen 2 on their new, larger, inflatable movie screen.
Movie to start approximately around 8 p.m. Come a half hour early to participate in the Frozen dress up contest, Frozen trivia contest and sing-a-long.
Beach Bingo: Come play the hottest ticket in town. Beach Bingo on South Beach every Tuesday and Thursday at 6 p.m. It’s just $1 a card that plays for all 10 games. Win local prizes from Avalon vendors. Get there early because the cards sell out quickly.
