Sheriff’s Log: Sept. 26 to Oct. 2, 2018

Editor’s note: The following is the Avalon Sheriff’s Station significant incidents report for the week of Sept. 26 to Oct. 2, 2018.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Many people who are arrested do not get prosecuted in the first place and many who are prosecuted do not get convicted.

September 26

• Deputies responded to the 200 block of Falls Canyon Road regarding a burglary alarm call. Deputies determined it was a malfunctioning alarm.

September 27

• Isthmus Baywatch and Two Harbors deputies handled a medical emergency when a Monterey County Sheriff’s deputy had a medical issue while participating in scuba training near Two Harbors.

The deputy is doing well.

September 28

• Deputies responded to the 400 block of Crescent Avenue regarding an intoxicated male.

Family members arrived and transported the intoxicated male to his residence in Hamilton Cove.

September 29

• Two Harbors deputies arrested Yon Carpenter of Long Beach on suspicion of assaulting another man at the Two Harbors Plaza.

The victim placed the suspect under private person’s arrest suspicion of battery.

September 30

• Deputies arrested Brandon Gagarin of Santa Maria on suspicion of assaulting his girlfriend and a Good Samaritan who came to her aid. The incident occurred in the 100 block of Crescent Avenue.

October 1

• Deputies responded to the 200 block of Clarissa Avenue regarding a person yelling call.

Deputies determined the male was being loud inside his residence and no criminal laws had been violated.

October 2

• Deputies responded to the 200 block of East Whittley Avenue regarding a resident that locked herself out of her residence.

The deputies were able to help her back into her residence.
