Sheriff’s Log: March 13 to 19, 2019

Editor’s note: The following is the Avalon Sheriff’s Station significant incidents report for the week of March 13 to 19, 2019.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Many people who are arrested do not get prosecuted in the first place and many who are prosecuted do not get convicted.

March 13

• Deputies conducted a stalking investigation regarding an Avalon resident. The investigation is ongoing and the suspect is already in custody on an unrelated charge.

March 14

• Deputies conducted high visibility at Beacon Street and Sumner Avenue regarding traffic and pedestrian issues.

March 15

• Deputies responded to a loud noise call in the 300 block of Metropole Avenue. Deputies warned several people regarding causing a loud disturbance. No criminal laws were violated.

March 16

• Deputies arrested Hans Erickson, of Two Harbors, on suspicion of driving while intoxicated after he was involved in a traffic collision. The incident occurred at Two Harbors.

• Deputies were at Marilla Avenue and Crescent Avenue at 1 a.m., when they saw a 5-year-old girl walking down the street alone wearing her pajamas. The 5-year-old was carrying a small bag of clothes.

Deputies located her parents and determined the 5-year-old was spending the night at a friend’s house when she decided to walk home without telling anyone. Deputies returned the 5-year-old to her parents. No criminal were violated.

March 17

• Deputies responded to the 100 block of Whittley Avenue regarding people fighting in the street. Several people were contacted and went back to their rooms.

March 18

• Deputies conducted a domestic violence investigation that occurred in the 100 block of Whittley Avenue. Deputies are working with the District Attorney’s Office on the case.

March 19

• Deputies arrested Salvador Perez from Avalon for a parole violation warrant in the 200 block of Sumner Avenue.
