The Rotary Club of Avalon announced that they have received a matching grant through Rotary District 5320 in the amount of $5,200.

This grant was once again requested to assist low-income community members with the cost of boat transportation for medical or surgical services that are not available on the island. The Rotary Club of Avalon provides $2,600 and that amount is matched by Rotary District 5320, which covers Orange and Southern Los Angeles County.

Members of the Avalon Rotary club have generously donated to the Rotary Foundation making them eligible for grant application. For the past several years, this grant has provided gift cards for round trip boat fare to many appreciative community members.
