Sheriff’s Log: Feb. 13 to Feb. 19, 2019

Editor’s note: The following is the Avalon Sheriff’s Station significant incidents report for the week of Feb. 13 to Feb. 19, 2019.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Many people who are arrested do not get prosecuted in the first place and many who are prosecuted do not get convicted.

February 13

• Wednesday evening, through Thursday morning, first responders responded to numerous rain related incidents throughout the city. Numerous streets in Avalon were closed due to mud and rock slides. There were no reported injuries.

February 14

• Deputies responded to the 300 block of Whittley Avenue regarding a domestic violence call. The suspect had already left the residence prior to the deputies’ arrival. The investigation is ongoing.

February 15

• Deputies arrested Chase Zenter of Los Angeles in the 300 block of Wrigley Road on suspicion of assault.

February 16

• Deputies arrested Curtis Hall of Huntington Beach in the 300 block of Descanso Avenue on suspicion of assault.

• Deputies arrested Christian Gamboa of Avalon on suspicion of furnishing alcohol to an adult who was not 21 years old. They also arrested Jamie Alaniz of Avalon on suspicion of possessing an alcoholic beverage while being under 21 years old. The incident occurred near Beacon Avenue and Catalina Avenue.

February 17

• Deputies arrested Abel Contreras of Avalon on suspicion of drinking alcohol in public in the 100 block of Catalina Avenue.

February 18

• An informant came to Avalon Sheriff’s Station and turned in narcotics that she found on Descanso Avenue. (Methamphetamine).

February 19

• Deputies arrested Egan Zimmer of Encinitas on suspicion of being drunk in public after he was involved in an argument in the 200 block of Beacon Avenue.

Safety Note

California Vehicle Code 22450 indicates that you have to stop at all stop signs. If you do not come to a complete stop, you can be issued a citation.
