Sheriff’s Log: Dec. 25 to Dec. 31, 2019

Editor’s note: The following is the Avalon Sheriff’s Station significant incidents report for the week of Dec. 25 to Dec. 31, 2019. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Many people who are arrested do not get prosecuted in the first place and many who are prosecuted do not get convicted.

December 25

• Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

December 26

• Deputies stopped a motorist on Pebbly Beach Road for having an open alcoholic beverage in a vehicle. The motorist was issued a citation.

December 27

• Deputies were called to Avalon Canyon Road near Bird Park regarding a domestic violence incident. Deputies arrested Eric Wade from Marina Del Rey for allegations of assault.

• Deputies responded to an unoccupied 25 foot capsized boat near the cove at Campus by the Sea. The boat was damaged but there were no injuries. The damaged vessel was towed to the Avalon Harbor.

December 28

• Deputies responded to the 300 block of Tremont Street regarding an adult not taking her prescription medication. No crimes were violated and deputies directed the family to their physician who prescribed the medication.

December 29

• Deputies responded to Vons regarding a missing 8-year-old. Deputies searched the area and were able to find the missing 8-year-old and return him to his parents. The young boy was not injured.

December 30

• Deputies arrested Luis Tamayo from Avalon on suspicion of being drunk in public and causing a disturbance in the 100 block of Sumner Avenue.

December 31

• Deputies arrested David Garcia from Avalon on suspicion of being under the influence of an illegal controlled substance and for possession of methamphetamine. The arrest occurred in the 300 block of Tremont Street.
