October 2025 visitor count up 20.4%

The “alternative” compliance plan would then allow them a period of seven years to allow more advanced technology, and financing, to emerge.

Last October saw 98,686 visitors come to Catalina Island, a 20.4% increase from the previous year, according to data recently released by Love Catalina Island Tourism Authority.

“October’s total arrival count was above the three, five and ten-year averages by 6.0%, 11.8% and 14.7% respectively,” according to the Love Catalina website.

“October 2025 had the highest number of total visitor arrivals on record @ 98,686,” according to the Love Catalina.

“October 2020 had the lowest number of total visitor arrivals @ 67,808,” according to the Love Catalina.

“Passengers arriving by sea in October totaled 95,730, up by 19.7% for the month compared to last year,” according to the website.

“Cross Channel Passenger counts were up by 3.6%, an increase of 1,885 people,” according to the website.

Those figures included visitors to Two Harbors.

“October Cross Channel Passenger counts were above the three, five and ten-year averages by 1.7%, 0.3% and 1.1% respectively. Cross Channel Passengers made up 55.71% of total monthly arrivals,” the website said.

“Cruise passenger counts totaled 35,542, up from 22,449 last year by 58.3% or 13,093 visitors,” the website said.

“October Cruise Passenger counts were above the three, five and ten-year averages by 11.5%, 36.6% and 50.8% respectively,” the website said.

“Cruise Passengers made up 36.02% of total monthly arrivals,” the website said.

“The number of Cruise Ships calling on Avalon in October was 11,” the website said.

“October typically has 10 ships call,” according to Love Catalina.

“Private Boater Passenger counts totaled 5,209, up 16.9% from last year,” according to Love Catalina.

“October Private Boater Passenger counts were above the three and five-year averages by 7.7% and 5.2% respectively, but below the ten-year average by 4.3%,” according to Love Catalina.

“Private Boaters made up 5.28% of total monthly arrivals,” according to Love Catalina Island Tourism Authority.

“October’s 2025 number of Vessels Anchored was not reported,” the website said.

“October’s number of Vessels on Moorings was 1,264, up 13.5% from last year’s total of 1,114,” the website said.

“Combined in-bound air passenger counts for October totaled 3,016 up by 52.7% from 1,975 in 2024,” the website said.

“Private Aircraft Passengers made up 1.76% of total monthly arrivals,” according to Love Catalina Island Tourism Authority.

“Helicopter Passenger counts totaled 1,222, up year-over-year by 46.9% from 832 in 2024,” according to Love Catalina Island Tourism Authority.

“Helicopter Passengers made up 1.24% of total monthly arrivals,” according to Love Catalina Island Tourism Authority.
