Fish & Wildlife issuing citations for feeding deer

I’m very disturbed that it has been reported that the “subject Agency” has issued citations to Avalon resident/s for feeding wild deer population that have migrated into Avalon from SCICO property because of insufficient food and water source. I’m advised that recipient/s of these citations must appear in court and if a judge determines they are “guilty” of some violation, fines of up to $10,000 dollars have been imposed. (I’m also advised that the City of Avalon does NOT have any ordinance regulating this issue, nor should they have too! (This is NOT a City Issue!)

These deer originate from lands owned by the SCICO, and if these animals are officially regulated by the Department of Fish & Wildlife then it’s my opinion that SCICO and FF&W must work together to provide a welfare solution for these animals and immediately terminate the issuing to Avalon residents!!!
