Jan. 24 to 25

Avalon Station personnel responded to a trespassing call on the 300 block of Wrigley Road. The caller stated a female adult was trespassing inside a residence. The captain, sergeant and a deputy arrived at the location and spoke to the owner of the home via telephone. They confirmed a trespassing crime had been committed and attempted to contact the suspect at the front door. The suspect refused to exit the location and began yelling at them. The woman told the deputies she was going to shoot them in the face as they stood at the front door. Upon saying this, the woman fired a single round at the front door towards the personnel. They immediately assessed themselves for injury and established a containment of the residence. The Sheriff’s Department’s Special Enforcement Bureau responded to the island along with a Crisis Negotiating Team. After approximately 4 hours, the suspect exited the location and was arrested without incident.

There were no injuries to Avalon Station personnel or the suspect. There was a bullet hole in the front door.
