Island Yacht Club donates to Avalon football

The Catalina Island Yacht Club recently donated funding for the purchase of helmet sensors for the Avalon football team.  The sensors measure the impact of contact during play and alert the coaching staff of possible injury to players.  Foundation president Jim McCampbell and Foundation treasurer Randy Weaver presented the funding check to football coach Michael Forcella at the yacht club facility located on Casino Way.

The Catalina Island Yacht Club has been a member of the Avalon community since its founding in 1924.  The club’s charitable foundation was organized to assist local Avalon organizations with funding for a broad spectrum of causes and receives its donations from the club membership.
