Coyote Joe’s, Bravo’s Win, third game goes down to wire

Coyote Joe’s took on Straight Up Builders in game one. Coyote Joe’s got off to a hot start, scoring nine runs on four base hits, doubles from J.D. Laflin and Rachel McCormick, a couple of fielder’s choice, and a three run home run from Nestor Cuibllas.

Straight Up Builders answered back with a three RBI home run from Brandon Franco. Coyote Joe’s kept the pressure on in the second, this time using doubles from Enrique Bravo and J.D. Laflin, a triple from Francisco Bravo, and a home run from Ben Guzman to score four runs.

Straight Up Builders answered back with a base hit and doubles from Ryan Hinkley and Steven Marcy to bring home two runs. Nestor Cubillas hit a double in the third for Coyote Joes, but was left stranded at second. Straight Up Builder’s Alvin Veal opened with a double, but was thrown out trying to stretch it to a triple. Dewitt Finley hit a double, but was left at second.

Coyote Joe’s effectively put the game away in the fourth, batting around the order and bringing home ten runs. Francisco Bravo opened with a double. An RBI base hit and two walks later, J.D. Laflin hit a Grand Slam home run. Ben Guzman followed with a solo home run. Two base hits, a fielder’s choice, and a walk along with a double from Nestor Cubillas brought home the other four runs of the inning. With time expired, Straight Up Builders got their last at bat. Ryan Hinkley and Stephen Marcy both hit doubles and scored, but they were the only two runs of the inning. The game ended with the score Straight Up Builders 7, Coyote Joe’s 23.

For Straight Up Builders, Steven Marcy was three for three. Ryan Hinkley and Uriel Castillo collected two hits. Brandon Franco, Alvin Veal and Dewitt Finley had one hit.

For Coyote Joes, J.D. Laflin and Nestor Cubillas were three for three. Francisco Bravo also had three hits. Enrique Bravo and Ben Guzman contributed two hits. Ron Bevins, Hugh Bevins, Victor Martinez, Rachel Mc Cormick and Cathy Ponce had one hit.

Game two featured Bravo’s Landscaping and Chet’s Hardware. Joe Hernandez opened the game for Bravo’s Landscaping with a triple and scored on the sacrifice fly. Tyler Engel collected an RBI on his double for the second run of the inning. Chet’s Hardware answered back with a double from Marco Gallegos who later scored.

Bravo’s Landscaping added two more runs in the second off two base hits and a double from Joe Hernandez. The third inning saw Bravo’s Landscaping put two more on the board off two base hits and doubles from Stephanie Martinez and Joe Hernandez. Tyler Engel hit a double and scored for Bravo’s Landscaping in the fourth. Bravo’s Landscaping then turned a double play to end the Chet’s Hardware fourth inning.

Bravo’s Landscaping hit two singles, a double from Diana Rios and a triple from Justin Hernandez to bring home four runs in the fifth. In the sixth inning Bravo’s Landscaping rallied for three walks, four base hits, triples from Justin Hernandez and Stephanie Martinez, and a home run from Tyler Engel to put an additional nine on the board. With time expired, Chet’s Hardware got their last at bat, but continued to struggle with their offense. The game ended with the score Chet’s Hardware 1, Bravo’s Landscaping 21.

For Chet’s Hardware, Betty Tejeda was three for three. Marco Gallegos, Alex Romero, Andres Garcia and Traci Degnan collected one hit.

For Bravo’s Landscaping, Joe Hernandez was five for five. Tyler Engel collected four hits. Santiago Martinez and Stephanie Martinez contributed three hits. Justin Hernandez and Leah Quarnstrom had two hits. Ryan Adkins, Juan Pablo Bravo, Diana Rios and Judy Quarnstrom had one hit.

Game three between Lobster Trap and Hamilton Cove Real Estate proved it’s never over ‘til it’s over! Lobster Trap opened the game with a solo inside the park home run from Jose Octavo. Margery Williams followed with a double and later scored.

Hamilton Cove Real Estate answered with their first batter, Robert Reyes, also hitting a solo inside the park home run. Five base hits, triples from Luis Lazzaro and Aimee Casillas, along with a home run from Gabriel Alvardo added up to eight runs across the plate.

Hamilton Cove Real Estate added three more runs in the second off a solo home run from Leo Aguilar and three more base hits. In the third, Jose Octavo hit his second inside the park home run for Lobster Trap.

Hamilton Cove Real Estate answered with an RBI double from Gustavo Aguilar. Hamilton Cove Real Estate added another run off two base hits in the fourth inning. Lobster Trap got back on the board in the fifth inning with two runs off three base hits and a double from Jose Octavo.

In the sixth inning, Lobster Trap put together five base hits, with a walk and an error, along with a double from Efrain Moreno and a home run from Beto Martin to score eight runs and tie the game. With time expired, Hamilton Cove Real Estate got their last at bat. With a runner on, Lobster Trap turned a double play to end the game at a tie, 13-13.

For Lobster Trap, Jose Octavo was four for four. Beto Martin collected three hits. Efrain Moreno, Margery Williams and Alana Moreno contributed two hits. Mario Jimenez and Paul Daniel Romo had one hit.

For Hamilton Cove Real Estate, Gustavo Aquilar was three for three. Aimee Casillas also had three hits. Robert Reyes, Leo Aguilar, Gabriel Alvarado, Luis Lazzaro and Matilde Martinez collected two hits. Carlos Martinez and Omar Aguilar contributed one hit.
