Coyote Joe’s, Bravo’s Landscaping victorious

The first game of the night was between Coyote Joe’s and Straight Up Builders. Both teams were scoreless after one inning. The second inning saw Coyote Joe’s get on the board with four runs off a base hit, two errors, a walk and a double from Melissa Schafer. 

Straight Up Builders answered with a walk turned into a run. Coyote Joe’s added another run in the third. Straight Up Builders kept it close with two runs in the bottom of the inning off three base hits and a double from Brandon Franco. 

In the fifth inning Juan De La Cruz hit a solo home run for Coyote Joe’s. Straight Up Builders J.D. Laflin hit a double and later scored in the bottom of the inning. Coyote Joe’s turned an error into a run in the sixth inning. Both teams were held scoreless in the seventh, and the game ended with the score Straight Up Builder 4, Coyote Joe’s 7.

For Straight up Builders J.D. Laflin was three for three. Rachel Mc Cormick collected two hits. With one hit each were Chuy Sillas, Brandon Franco, Alex Herrera, Bart Glass, Alvin Polk, Jesus Gutierrez, Marcus Watts and Taryn Minuto. 

For Coyote Joe’s Francisco Bravo had two hits. Marco Gallegos, Allan Vega, Edmundo Vega, Juan De La Cruz, Aimee Casillas and Melissa Schafer all contributed one hit.

Game two between Catalina Express and Bravo’s Landscaping came down to the last inning. Catalina Express started it off with an RBI double from Gilbert Hernandez. Bravo’s Landscaping answered with a solo home run from Ryan Adkins. 

Catalina Express added a run in the second before the inning ending double play by Bravo’s Landscaping. Bravo’s Landscaping’s Tyler Engel opened the inning with a double and later scored. Jose Octavo hit a triple for Catalina Express in the third and scored before Bravo’s Landscaping again turned a double play to end the inning. 

Bravo’s Landscaping kept it tied with a run in the bottom of the inning. Catalina Express had four base hits for two runs in the fourth. Tyler Engel hit a double for Bravo’s Landscaping in the bottom of the inning, but was left at second. 

In the top of the fifth Fabiola Sillas ended the Catalina Express threat with her catch of a pop up behind the plate. Jack Villagomez took that momentum into the bottom of the inning with a solo home run for Bravo’s Landscaping. In the top of the sixth inning Luis Lazzaro hit a solo home run for Catalina Express. A base hit, an error and a sacrifice fly added up to the second run of the inning for Catalina Express. 

Bravo’s Landscaping started the bottom of the inning with a double from Joe Talsky who scored on a sacrifice fly. Joe Hernandez hit a triple and scored on a base hit for a total of two runs. Top of the seventh inning and Jose Octavo hit a double for Catalina Express, but was left stranded. 

Down by one run, Bravo’s Landscaping got their last at bat. Fabiola Sillas started it off with a base hit. Another base hit and a walk had the bases loaded for Selina Morones. Selina promptly slammed a walk off double to score two for the win. Final score Catalina Express 7, Bravo’s Landscaping 8.

For Catalina Express Jose Octavo had three hits. Billy Boyd collected two hits. Gilbert Hernandez, Luis Lazzaro, Paul Daniel Romo, Viktor Martinez, Margery Williams, Laura Priest and Diana Rios contributed one hit. 

For Bravo’s Landscaping Selina Morones was four for four. Tyler Engel and Jack Villagomez were three for three. Ryan Adkins collected two hits. With one hit each were Joe Talsky, Joe Hernandez, Steven Marcy, Uriel Castillo, Santiago Martinez, Judy Quarnstrom and Fabiola Sillas.
