A charitable organization named after former Avalon legendary citizen Bobby Machado, has made its mark on the lives of four members of our Avalon youth. Adrian Castro, Juan Hernandez, James Hall, and Darren Hall all had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to attend the Snow Valley Basketball Camp at Westmont College, in Santa Barbara, California, thanks to the Bucks For Bobby Foundation.

The camp took place from July 16 thru 18. These four individuals had the opportunity to participate in a skills development camp with 75 other kids from all over the country.

They also had the opportunity to stay in the college dorms and experience a little of that college life, thus preparing them for a future college career. These youngsters ran their tails off for three days and now are improved players because of the experience.

The youngsters and their families are extremely appreciative of this opportunity and would like to send a shout out to Laura Machado and her beautiful family for raising the money to provide the scholarship for the kids to attend the camp. Again, we see the benefits of living in a small town where individual people can really make a difference. Thank you again to the Bucks For Bobby Foundation.
