Avalon’s Rotary and Lions Clubs Join Forces for 8th Annual Chili Cook-off and 1st Corn Hole Tournament

Avalon’s two major service clubs are joining forces to make the 8th Annual Chili Cook-off bigger and better with the addition of a Corn Hole Tournament.

Back for the 8th year, Avalon Rotary is presenting the annual Chili Cook-off on Oct. 5, on South Beach. The cook-off will run from 1 pm to 4 pm and is now open for registration and sponsorship opportunities. Admission to the event is $25 adults, $5 for kids ages five to eleven and under five, kids are free.

Once again prizes for best Chili will total $3,000. Entry forms for the Cook-off are available by contacting Nicole@pacificahost.com and entry fee is $50 each.

Sponsorships are available at three levels: Silver @ $500, Gold @ $750 and Platinum @ $1,000. Sponsor’s logos will be included on banners at the event and in marketing materials. Corn Hole Tournament teams may register using the QR code

Cost: $120 per team. Maximum of 32 teams

Rules: American Cornhole Association Rules will be followed, with adjustments for the number of points scored to win in each round. First round: 11 points; Second round 15 points; Third round; 15 points; Final round 21 points.

This is a family friendly event: appropriate behavior is expected, and foul language, poor sportsmanship or bad conduct are not welcome. Team names need to be PG-13.

Details: No substitute players once tournament begins. We are mindful that people might have a change in circumstances, so swapping a player is allowed until the event begins.
