Club also donates $6,500 to pre-school

The Avalon Lions Club has donated $6,500 to the Catalina Kid Ventures Preschool. The money will be used to pay for a much-needed new floor in the preschool building and replacement sunshades for the playground.

The new flooring is state of the art life proof vinyl which is advertised to withstand the most robust use. Catalina Kid Ventures Board Member and Avalon Lions Club Board Member David Lee organized this community service project. Lions Club Members were assisted in the installation by David Lee’s son Alistair Lee.

Avalon General Contractor and Avalon Lions Club Board Member Dave Thompson is directing the installation. Lions Club Members worked Saturday October 26 and finished one of the two rooms in the Preschool. Completion is scheduled for November 9, 2019. The Catalina Kid Ventures playground sunshades will be replaced as needed.

The Avalon Lions Club is part of the largest community service organization in the world. There are 37 members in the Avalon Lions Club who donate their time and money to improve our town. Any Avalon resident with a heart for community service is encouraged to contact a Lions Club Member about joining the Avalon Lions Club.
