The Hillcrest Christian Saints football team came into Avalon last Friday with an undefeated record, outscoring their opponents 146-24. The Lancers also entered the game undefeated. It was a tight game in the first half with both defenses making strong stands and entering halftime with a score of 14-6 in Avalon’s favor. The second half, the Avalon Lancers football team unleashed. Jose Gomez, Pablo Chavolla, Diego Rios and Pablo Chavolla anchored the defense, not allowing the Saints to do anything offensively while Jason Campos, Ulises Zavala, Beto Martinez and DeAngelo Reyes were a constant assault with Avalon’s offense. Kicker, Angel Hernandez once again had a strong game both with his kicking and once again with his scoring. Avalon won 35-6

The Lancers are now 4-0 and will be taking on league opponent Sage Hill Lightning tonight at Joe Machado field with kickoff at 5 p.m.
