Avalon High School Varsity Golf

On Monday, March 5, three members of the Avalon High School Varsity Golf Team participated in The Glendora Golf Invitational held at the private Glendora Country Club. There were 39 teams of three.

Schools from as far away as Northern California, Fresno and Arizona participated along with some of Southern California’s top golf schools. Avalon took 5th place. Mater Dei took the top two spots.

Avalon was the smallest school by far and held there own against mostly Division 1 schools.

Danny Pedroza shot the low round for Avalon. He shot a 78, followed by a 81 by Angel Ramirez and an 85 by Ulises Zavala.

This was the team’s first match of the year. The Lancers golf team plays at home at 3 p.m., today, Friday, March 9, against Pacifica Christian.
