The Catalina Island Yacht Club Foundation, responding to funding requests, approved applications for two local Avalon organizations. Donations were made to Catalina Kids Ventures and Friends of the Avalon Library with each entity receiving a check for $1,000.
On hand to receive the funds were Mayor Anni Marshall representing Catalina Kids Ventures and Judy Grear from Friends of the Avalon Library. CIYC Vice Commodore Carlos Chacon and past Foundation President Jim McCampbell represented the Yacht Club and Yacht Club Foundation.
The CIYC Foundation provides funding to city approved local 501, c(3) charities. Applications are available at the club facility located at 30 Casino Way.
