The Metropole Hotel finished the second round in second place at 6-4.  They have been led by Jose Montano, J.D. Laflin and Ricky Hague.  The Metropole is the only team to have defeated Steve’s so far, so they are gearing up for the tournament with the confidence that they can take it all.
The high school team comes in at 5-5 and in sole possession of third place.  Edgar Alvarez, Gabe Hernandez and Danny Jimenez have been the leaders and have shown a lot of improvement since attending a High Potential Camp at Stanford University last month.

The Chi Chi Club is at 4-6 and showing signs of improvement.  They just have to sustain their good play and victories will come.  Ricardo Ramirez and Captain Mike Fekete are providing the hustle and good play.

The Lobster Trap and JL’S Locker Room are both tied at 3-7. Both teams have lost key players but are also on the rebound.  Alejandro Campos and Mario Jimenez have been leading the way for the Trap, while Omar Bravo and former League MVP Joe Hernandez have been playing well for JL’S.

There will be three rounds of league play and then they begin the post-season tournament at the end of July. The games have been hard fought and well attended.  The Adult Summer League Basketball games are held from 6 to 9 p.m., Mondays and Wednesdays. Coach Steve Hall offered special thanks to Marian Rubio and Sandra Gallegos for helping out at the scorer’s table.  He said the players could not do it without their help.
