Call them Funny Fridays.

Starting tonight, Friday, July 12, and running every Friday through Aug. 30, you can get your giggle on twice a night as the Country Club presents two shows from The Laugh Factory Comedy Club.

The first starts at 6:30 p.m., with a second show at 9 p.m. Guests who attend either of the first two shows this evening will get two comics for the price of one as Erik Griffin and Harry Basil take the stage during both.

Fans of the hit Comedy Central series “Workaholics” will recognize Griffin as that show’s iconic series regular Montez.

Griffin is a first-generation American-born comedian/actor who made the decision in 2003 to quit his job and plunge headlong into making comedy his full-time occupation. With his multicultural background, a Central American-Caribbean mother, a father of European decent, he blends well into the North American landscape particularly in this era of cultural diversity. With his routine full of hilarious observations about life, love and self-evaluation, he brings together all ages and ethnic backgrounds, which makes for an uproariously good time.

Meanwhile, Basil who was the opening act for Rodney Dangerfield for 17 years, will pesent some of his finest quips from New Jersey, where the comic honed his skill before moving out to Hollywood. He’s performed in world famous comedy clubs, where Dangerfield discovered him on HBO’s “The 9th Annual Young Comedians Special.” A close friendship developed between Basil and Dangerfield.

Basil, as a human movie trailer, takes his audiences on a wild romp through current and classic movies, with a trunk of outrageous props and costumes that could fill a sound stage. He also recreates and spoofs memorable moments from classic hit movies. Basil is more than an impressionist, as he physically and vocally takes on a wide variety of unforgettable actors and movie characters. He’s known for pulling unsuspecting audience members up on stage to act as his co-stars. Basil has also opened for such superstars as Liza Minnelli, The Pointer Sisters, The Beach Boys, Gloria Estefan, Chuck Berry, Julio Iglesies, and fellow Jersey Boy, Frankie Valli.
