Sheriff’s Significant Incident Report: April 10 to 16

The following is the Avalon Sheriff’s Station significant incidents report for the week of April 10 to April 16. A significant incident is defined as one that generates a written police report. The station commander provides this report to the Avalon city manager each week.

“It is important to note that no assumption of criminal guilt or affiliation should be drawn from the content of the information provided in this report.  Many people who get arrested do not get convicted or even charged with crimes for which they have been arrested,” said Capt. Doug Fetteroll, commander of the Avalon Sheriff’s Station.

April 10

• Matthew Garcia, M/22, an Avalon resident, was arrested for suspicion of Burglary.  He was additionally charged with being under the influence of a controlled substance and for possession of drug paraphernalia.

April 11

• Peggy Melendrez, F/56, a resident of Perris, was arrested for Drunk in Public. 

• A residential burglary was reported in the 300 block of Sumner Avenue while the home owners were on the mainland.

April 13

• Tequilynn Laster, M/37, a resident of Rancho Cucamonga, was arrested for Drunk in Public.

• Deputies responded to a report of males with a rifle in the area of Jewfish Point.  The weapons were determined to be BB guns only.

Note: Reported golf cart thefts (this week)

• Year-to-date—Six were reported stolen (three were mistakenly reported as stolen) and all six were recovered.
