Sheriff’s log: Thursday, Sept. 17 to Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015

The following is the Avalon Sheriff’s Station significant incidents report for the week of Sept. 17 to Sept. 23. “It is important to note that no assumption of criminal guilt or affiliation should be drawn from the content of the information provided in this report,” said Capt. Doug Fetteroll, commander of the Station. “Many people who get arrested do not get convicted or even charged with crimes for which they have been arrested.”

• A 55-year-old visitor from Alta Loma was found deceased in his hotel room.  The cause of death is unknown.

Sept. 18

• An Avalon resident reported his wallet was stolen from a locker at Descanso Beach.

Sept. 19

• At 4:50 p.m., Matthew Garcia, 23, an Avalon resident, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

• At 8:31 p.m., Brian Crook, 27, a resident of Redondo Beach, was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public.

• An Avalon resident reported her golf cart was stolen from 1 Casino Way.
