Sheriff’s Log: Sept. 7 to Sept. 13, 2023

The following is the Avalon’s Sheriff’s Stations significant incidents report for the period of Sept. 7 to Sept. 13, 2023.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Many people who are arrested do not get prosecuted in the first place and many who are prosecuted do not get convicted.

September 7

  • Deputies responded to the LA County Fire Station for a possible vandalism report. The deputies arrived and discovered the search and rescue truck had a damaged windshield caused by a golf ball.

Be on the look out for the golfer with a mean slice.

September 8

  • Deputies responded to a disturbance call on Crescent Avenue. The caller stated a local man known by the Sheriff’s was at the location harassing customers. The deputies contacted the man and advised him he was not welcomed at the location. They also warned him about how his childish behavior. The man was cooperative and left the location.

September 9

  • Deputies responded to a disturbance call on Crescent Avenue. The caller stated a bald, drunk man with no shirt on was refusing to leave the location. The deputies contacted the man and asked him if he would like to leave with his friends or stay with the deputies. He gladly went home with his friends for the evening.

September 10

  • Deputies responded to Descanso Beach Club regarding a trespassing call. The caller stated a man was at the location despite being advised he was not allowed on the property.

The deputies located the man away from the property and arrested him based on 3 outstanding bench warrants. Christian Gonzalez, of Avalon, 33 was booked at Avalon Station.

  • Deputies responded to a business disturbance at the Mole. The caller stated a male was arguing with employees while boarding the boat. The deputies contacted the employee who stated a man was in line for the boat and was arguing with other passengers. He also stated the man threw his trash onto the floor including 2 beer cans. The employee advised the man he would not be allowed on the boat due to his behavior. The man ignored the employee and entered the boat.

The deputies also entered the boat and contacted the man. They immediately noticed the man was drunk and asked him to exit the boat. The man walked off the boat and was arrested for being drunk in public. The deputies advised the man his behavior and state of intoxication were a danger to all the passengers and the captain would not jeopardize safety. Kenneth Bailey, 45, of Fallbrook, was booked at Avalon Station on suspicion of public intoxication.

September 12

  • Deputies responded to Sunny Lane regarding a possible assault call. The caller stated her boyfriend hat hit her and he was still at the location.

The deputies contacted both parties and conducted interviews. Based on their interviews they determined the man the man assaulted his girlfriend. Carlos Haro, 30, of Simi Valley, was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence. He was booked at Avalon Sheriff’s Station.

September 13

  • Deputies responded to Fairview Terrace regarding a trespassing call. The caller stated 2-3 persons were in the pool area and they were not residents at the location. The deputies arrived and cited 4 people at the location.
