Sheriff’s Log: Nov. 25 to Dec. 2, 2015

The following is the Avalon Sheriff’s Station significant incidents report for the week of Nov. 25 to Dec. 2.

“It is important to note that no assumption of criminal guilt or affiliation should be drawn from the content of the information provided in this report,” said Capt. Doug Fetteroll, commander of the Station.  

“Many people who get arrested do not get convicted or even charged with crimes for which they have been arrested,” Fetteroll said.

November 25

The following is the Avalon Sheriff’s Station significant incidents report for the week of Nov. 25 to Dec. 2.

November 25

• No significant incidents.

November 26

• An Avalon resident reported being the victim of a grand theft of unauthorized withdrawals from his bank account in September of 2015.

November 27

• Two visitors to the island were involved in a non-criminal domestic dispute in the 100 block of Sumner Avenue.

November 28

• An Avalon resident reported being the victim of an assault with a deadly weapon.  The weapon used to commit the assault was a piece of lumber. A suspect was arrested the following day.

November 29

• At 10:30 a.m., Leslie Armstrong, 64, an Avalon resident, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon (lumber).

• At noon, a private airplane was unable to successfully land on the runway at The-Airport-in-the-Sky.  

All four adults on the plane were able to walk away from the accident without serious injury.   

November 30-December 2

• No significant incidents.
