Sheriff’s Log: March 30 to April 5, 2023

Editor’s note: The following is the Avalon’s Sheriff’s Stations significant incidents report for the period of March 30 to April 5, 2023.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Many people who are arrested do not get prosecuted in the first place and many who are prosecuted do not get convicted.

March 30

  • Deputies conducted foot patrols and segway patrols on Front Street due to cruise ship passengers visiting the island. They educated many visitors on the liquor and marijuana laws.

March 31

  • Deputies conducted a welfare check at Blackjack Campground. A caller stated he was worried because he had not heard from his son who was camping alone. The camper was located and telephoned his father stating he was doing just fine.

April 1

  • Deputies responded to a disturbance on the 100 block of Marilla Avenue. The caller stated a male and female were arguing at the location.

The deputies contacted the disturbing parties and determined they were loud talkers and no crime had been committed.

April 2

  • Deputies responded to a disturbance on the 100 block of Crescent Avenue involving a man and woman. The deputies contacted the couple who appeared to have enjoyed a few too many libations. They warned the man and woman about their noise levels. They agreed to keep it down and stay inside their hotel room.

April 3

  • Deputies responded to a trespassing call on Country Club Drive. The caller stated a man was trespassing at the location. The deputies contacted the man and advised him he was not welcomed at the location. The man left without incident.

April 4

  • Deputies responded to a disturbance call on Wrigley Terrace Road. The caller stated a man was yelling at people who were driving by. The deputies contacted the man whom they knew from prior contacts. The man apologized for his behavior and stated he was having a bad day.
