Sheriff’s Log: Dec. 19 to Dec. 25, 2018

Editor’s note: The following is the Avalon Sheriff’s Station significant incidents report for the week of Dec. 19 to Dec. 25, 2018.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Many people who are arrested do not get prosecuted in the first place and many who are prosecuted do not get convicted.

December 29

• Deputies received a call of a stolen bicycle in the 100 block of Sumner Avenue.

Deputies were able to locate the bicycle and return it to the owner.

December 20

• Deputies received a call of a person with a gun at 1 Country Club Drive.

Deputies detained three juveniles that were carrying toy guns.

No criminal laws were violated.

December 21

• Deputies issued an 18-year-old Avalon resident a citation for drinking alcohol at Three Palms.

December 22

• Deputies and the fire departments responded to Descanso Canyon Road regarding a bicyclist who fell and was injured.

The bicyclist suffered minor injuries.

December 23

• Deputies responded to the Marlin Club regarding a stolen purse call.

The victim left her purse on the bar and when she returned from the restroom her purse was missing. The investigation is ongoing.

December 24

• Deputies responded to a hit and run traffic collision near Beacon Street and Metropole Avenue.

The investigation revealed Alfredo Cisneros from Avalon collided into a parked vehicle and left the scene.

The case will be presented to the District Attorney’s Office.

Safety Note

Do not allow your children to carry BB guns, pellet guns, or toy guns in their waistbands while they walk around the town.

These guns look like real guns to witnesses and law enforcement.

We do not want someone to be seriously injured or killed.
