The Rotary Club of Avalon, Care For Catalina and Ocean Bleu recently partnered for a monthly Community Clean-up Day on Catalina Island. On Sunday July 23, 2023 Eleven volunteers from all three organizations joined with some island visitors and spent a little over an hour collecting a new record in 76.94 lbs of recycling and 27.23 lbs of trash.

The next monthly clean-up will be held in mid-August. The clean-ups commence at 9 a.m. in Avalon Kids Park when groups disperse to locations in town to gather trash and debris. Bags, tools and gloves are provided or participants may bring their own. The organizations welcome participants of all ages and abilities to join in this and other ongoing efforts to Care for Catalina and its eco-system. Removal of trash and other debris beautifies our community, protects our wildlife and ocean from pollution while bettering the visitor and resident experience.
