A crew works on the pilings of the Green Pleasure Pier. “On April 26, 2025, the City of Avalon, working with Jilk Heavy Construction, Inc., began the Green Pleasure Pier Pile Repair Project,” according to the city of Avalon website.
“The project includes removal and replacement of 21 pier piles – 5 fender piles and 16 structural piles – located in various areas beneath the Green Pleasure Pier,” according to the website.
“All pile driving, and work conducted from the marine barge is anticipated to be completed by Memorial Day – May 26, 2025. This schedule is dependent on weather conditions remaining calm during the time the work barge is anchored within the harbor,” according to the website.
