New viewing opportunities available for this year’s fireworks

Colorful Fireworks for the Grand Finale over Lake.

This year, in addition to the Fourth of July celebration at Catalina Casino, residents and visitors have two new ways to enjoy Avalon’s annual fireworks spectacular: on the Cyclone Fireworks Harbor Cruise and on the relaxation deck at Island Spa Catalina.

The Cyclone Fireworks Harbor Cruise offers guests a unique perspective of all the action, as the night sky lights up over Avalon Bay. The Cyclone departs from the Green Pier at 8:30 p.m. and returns after the grand finale. Tickets are $30 for adults and $20 for kids and seniors.

Island Spa Catalina’s July 4th celebration gets underway at 7 p.m. and features a complimentary champagne toast, DJ entertainment, party favors and spectacular views of the fireworks from the spa’s relaxation deck overlooking Avalon Bay. Street tacos, beer, wine and wine margaritas will be available for purchase. Tickets are $25. Must be 21 or older to attend.

The Annual 4th of July Celebration at Catalina Casino kicks off at 6:15 p.m. with a buffet dinner, followed by a stirring performance by the USC Marching Band. When the fireworks get underway at 9 p.m., guests step out on the Casino’s veranda for one of the best views in town. Tickets are $59 for adults and $29 for kids.

You can double your Independence Day fun by hopping aboard the Cyclone on Friday, July 6, and heading to the annual fireworks show in Two Harbors. The Cyclone departs from the Green Pier for Two Harbors at 6 p.m. and returns to Avalon at approximately 10 p.m. Price is $49.

Tickets are available at any Catalina Island Company ticket booth or online at VisitCatalinaIsland.com.
