Lions help Catalina Kid Ventures

The Avalon Lions Club has completed the installation of three new sun-rain shades, a new garden box and new toy shelves for Catalina Kid Ventures Preschool.

The sun-rain shades are wonderful to keep the little ones from getting sunburned and wet as they play outside. Each shade is 12 feet wide and 20 feet long on a steel frame bolted to the cement.

The sun-rain shades are wonderful to keep the little ones from getting sunburned and wet as they play outside. Each shade is 12 feet wide and 20 feet long on a steel frame bolted to the cement.

The garden box is four feet wide and eight feet long. There is 64 cubic feet of special potting soil in the box for growing plants. As a part of the preschool learning experience the children plant, water, and care for garden vegetables and sunflowers.

Shelves were needed in the classroom to find a home for blocks and other building materials. The creative minds of the students are always building and creating new objects from their imagination.
