The start of the 2018 Avalon Lions Club Christmas raffle will be on Monday, Dec. 10. Avalon Lions Club members will be selling tickets in the Avalon Arcade from Dec. 10 until Dec. 22.

There will be no ticket sales on Sunday. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5.

Tickets are on sale from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. The drawing for the raffle prizes will be at noon on Dec. 22, just in time for Christmas presents.

The money raised each year from the Lions Club community fundraiser goes to provide Christmas baskets to Avalon residents who need them. Last year the Avalon Lions Club donated $1,500 to this important Avalon tradition. This is an opportunity to show your Islander Christmas spirit by helping other people on Catalina Island.

The 2018 raffle prizes include a flat screen TV, hotel stays, gift cards from Avalon stores, a wall- mounted fireplace, Bluetooth headphones and cash prizes.

This year there will be a $150 cash prize, a $125 cash prize and a $100 cash prize that someone will win. Good luck to everyone. The Avalon Lions Club members thank everyone for their support and wish everyone a very merry Christmas.

The Avalon Lions Club is a part of Lions Clubs International, the largest service club organization in the world. For over 70 years the Avalon Lions Club has been helping make Avalon a better place to live.

Male and female Avalon residents with a heart for community service are encouraged to join the Avalon Lions Club. Contact Dave Thompson at 310-702-7153 or Burney Ramming at 310-422-1406 for more information.
