It may be just a coincidence, but it appears your column “Letters to the Editor” suddenly disappeared after some disparaging correspondence regarding the Catalina Conservancy.

I would hate to think your publication has acquiesced to the will of the Conservancy (i.e. the Wrigley Family) and is printing an “approved” product. You claim to be a “Proud Member of the California Newspaper Publishers Association.”
I wonder what the percentage is of association members that don’t print letters to the editor? Readers’ opinions are worthy of printing, regardless if it hurts.
Surely my correspondence can’t be the only one in over a month?

Editor’s reply: The Catalina Islander cannot publish letters to the editor it does not receive, nor will it publish anonymous letters that are not signed by the author.
