A standing ovation for a local code enforcement officer

I know everyone in town pretty much hates the code enforcement guys. It might be the worst job on the planet in a small town. Face it most of the time you get a ticket you deserve it and I like everyone else get irritated when I get one that I think is iffy.

There is another side to code enforcement most people don’t see. Sunday I was riding around on my bike when Christian Cisneros stopped me to get some information. He had found a small puppy without any identification and could not locate the owner, so he asked me if I knew who it belonged to. The animal was scared if not terrified like in one of those ASPCA commercials.

Christian had been driving around all day with the dog in his front seat hoping to provide some comfort to the trembling animal and trying to find its owner. Any place else it would have been immediately dropped off at the shelter. Even though it wasn’t Christian’s dog he recognized that dog was someone’s dog with a worried owner. No one applauds when they get a ticket, but I think he deserves a standing ovation for this one
