Seeking information on grandfather
I am writing because of my research into my Grandfather Lester G Smith Sr.
I have extensive photos and knowledge of Catalina from my Father, Lester G. Smith Jr.
My Grandfather worked for the Fish and Game. He was stationed at Catalina and took care of the surrounding fishing areas around Catalina.
He was also at one time the City Manager, and a Fire Chief.
My family eventually moved, where my Grandfather had a ranch at Grass Valley.

I am researching the historical connections to Avalon and Catalina.
My Dad grew up there, we had a boat, and did chartering as well.
Granddad was busy man and taught my dad to do many things including going boar hunting with the dogs.
I am looking for anyone who has a Grandfather or someone who remembers my Grandfather and also where to find him in the city records and other places.
He was featured in the L.A. Times numerous times because of his work.
I have the clippings!
I would like to find where our family lived and all related areas.
Any links or people who would have any historical knowledge of this would be appreciated!

I am doing this, it is late in regards to connecting to you at Catalina, but my Dad passed recently at 89.
He died before I could reach him and was cremated and there was no funeral.
I never had the chance most people have to bury their dad or have a funeral.
So today, I intend to come to Catalina in the future
