Letter from Anni Marshall

File art

It’s been my privilege to serve as your Mayor for the last 12 years and I thank you for the opportunity to continue in that role.

Working cooperatively with City Council and staff, I have dedicated my efforts to improving Avalon daily. Together we have invested in critical infrastructure improvements, capped the number of short-term rentals, equipped our outstanding Fire Department, implemented new public transportation, added lighting, speakers, and landscaping to Front Street-all while maintaining fiscal responsibility.

I remain committed to bringing back the DMV, paving streets and alleys, reducing vehicle noise and incorporate more public art. Continuity in leadership is critical to complete the generational projects that will impact the future of Avalon such as the Civic Center Housing Project, PBR Revetment, Green Pier Decking Replacement, South Beach Restoration and the Cabrillo Mole Rehabilitation Project.

I am so proud to call Avalon home for the last 42 years. You know me and know where I can be reached…not on Facebook but at Von’s, driving around town or anytime at 310-339-2935.

As we celebrate our Nation’s 250th Anniversary I encourage you to appreciate your freedoms and exercise your right to vote. Let your voice be heard!
