The Lady Lancers girls basketball team honored their four seniors; manager Alana Moreno, players Daniela Moreno, Hannah Hoefs and Virginia Soto at their final regular season game on Saturday Feb. 5. They not only celebrated these dedicated four-year athletes but celebrated a 50-8 win over Samueli Academy and securing their spot into the CIF-SS playoffs.

Coach Hart described this years’ senior class by saying, “This class reclaimed the culture that led Avalon to 10 consecutive years in the playoffs. They came in as freshmen when our program had lost its identity as hard working, competitive, team orientated and committed to representing the best version of yourself. But when they got to take over their leadership brought the culture back. Leading us back to the semifinals last year and first round state, and back to playoffs again this year. We have achieved that because these seniors embraced the culture that was built on past years. As a coach you are only as good as your players and especially the players who become your leaders. That is exactly what these young ladies are. They are leaders in their sports, classroom, as friends, and family members. Moms, dads you are blessed to have these girls in your life and great job raising them. Thank you for sharing them with all of us.”
