July 4th Parade: ‘From Sea to Shining Sea’

The City of Avalon has announced that this year’s 4th of July Parade theme is “From Sea to Shining Sea: Celebrating Catalina Island’s Maritime History.” Honoring his years of service to our Island, the community of Avalon is honoring Doug Bombard (pictured on the left) as Grand Marshal this year at the Independence Day Parade. The 4th of July Parade will be held on Monday, July 4.

The parade will line up at 12:30 p.m. at the Casino Building and will proceed down Crescent Avenue beginning at 1 p.m.

Locals and visitors in golf carts and children on bikes, tricycles and scooters are also invited to participate in this family-fun parade. Judging for the parade will take place on Lower Descanso Avenue from 11 a.m.–noon, and judges will award entries in the following categories: Most Patriotic, Most Humorous, Most Creative, and Best of Theme. Along with Grand Marshal Doug Bombard and his wife Audrey, the parade will also feature the local VFW Post, the USC Marching Band, Airshow, Tibetan Monks, Avalon Fire Department and Los Angeles County Fire Department, local service clubs and youth groups, and the famous Clydesdale Horses. The 4th of July is just around the corner and Two Harbors is gearing up for another spectacular weekend. We are pleased to announce that once again we will be carrying on the tradition of our annual fireworks display. The show will begin at approximately 9 p.m. on Sunday, July 3, concluding our Independence Day weekend celebration.

Two Harbors is thankful to have such loyal and gracious customers. Your generosity over the years has made our annual show an event for which we can all be proud. Your contributions will help us present a magnificent display over Isthmus Cove for all of our guests to enjoy.
