The July 2025 visitor count was 4% lower than the July 2024 visitor count, according to data recently released by Love Catalina Island Tourism Authority. (That’s the local Chamber of Commerce.)
“July 2024 had the highest number of total visitor arrivals @ 169,942,” according to the Love Catalina website.
“Passengers arriving by sea in July totaled 159,777 down by 3.9% for the month compared to last year,” the Love Catalina website said.
“Cross Channel Passenger counts were down 6.3%, a decrease of 7,273 people,” the Love Catalina website said.
Those numbers included visitors to Two Harbors resort, according to the website.
“2000 had the highest volume for the month @ 117,097 passengers,” the Love Catalina website said.
“2020 had the lowest volume for the month @ 50,135 passengers,” the Love Catalina website said.
“July Cross Channel Passenger counts were below the three and five-year averages by 2.1% and 1.3% respectively, but above the ten-year average by 5.8%,” the Love Catalina website said.
“Cross Channel Passengers made up 66.76% of total monthly arrivals,” the Love Catalina website said.
“Cruise passenger counts totaled 41,473, up from 40,673 last year by 2.0% or 800 visitors,” the Love Catalina website said.
“2025 had the highest Cruise Passenger volume for the month @41,473,” the website said.
“July Cruise Passenger counts were above the three, five and ten-year averages by 13.3%, 50.0% and 74.3% respectively,” the website said.
“Cruise Passengers made up 25.42% of total monthly arrivals,” the website said.
“The number of Cruise Ships calling on Avalon in July was 9,” the website said.
“2022, 2018 and 2016 had the highest number of ships calling @ 10,” the website said.
“July typically has 9 ships call,” the website said.
“Private Boater Passenger counts totaled 9,498, even with last year’s total,” the website said.
“2021 had the highest passenger volume for the month @ 10,608,” the website said.
“2014 had the lowest passenger volume month @ 8,084,” the website said.
“July Private Boater Passenger counts were below the three, five and ten-year averages by 2.0%, 3.9% and 3.3% respectively,” the website said.
“Private Boaters made up 5.82% of total monthly arrivals,” the website said.
“July’s number of Vessels Anchored was even with last year,” the website said.
“Private Aircraft Passengers (Airport in the Sky) totaled 1,584, down 28.1% vs. last year’s total of 2,202,” according to Love Catalina.
“2023 had the highest volume for the month @ 2,910,” according to Love Catalina.
2010 had the lowest volume for the month @ 1,455,” according to Love Catalina.
“July’s Private Aircraft Passenger count was below the three, five and ten-year averages by 29.0%, 25.2% and 26.1% respectively,” according to Love Catalina.
“Private Aircraft Passengers made up 1.70% of total monthly arrivals,” according to Love Catalina.
“Combined in-bound air passenger counts for July totaled 3,395, down by 10.0% from 3,774 in 2024,” according to Love Catalina.
“Private Aircraft Passengers (Airport in the Sky) totaled 1,584, down 28.1% vs. last year’s total of 2,202,” according to Love Catalina.
“July’s Private Aircraft Passenger count was below the three, five and ten-year averages by 29.0%, 25.2% and 26.1% respectively,” according to Love Catalina.
“Private Aircraft Passengers made up 1.70% of total monthly arrivals,” according to Love Catalina.
“Helicopter Passenger counts totaled 1,763, up year-over-year by 18.3% from 1,490 in 2024,” according to Love Catalina.
“Helicopter Passenger counts were above the three and five-year averages by 12.6% and 0.5% respectively, but below the ten-year average by 11.9%,” according to Love Catalina.
“Helicopter Passengers made up 1.09% of total monthly arrivals,” according to Love Catalina.
