Kendra Bray, Avalon High School class of 2005 graduate and local resident, was recently hired as an associate attorney in the litigation department of Walsworth Franklin Bevins & McCall, a full-service law firm headquartered in the city of Orange.

Bray is a fifth-generation Islander and is the oldest daughter of Mark and Pam Bray and granddaughter of Bruce and Sue Bray. Her siblings, Devon Beuret and Rush Bray also graduated from Avalon Schools.

Bray is the second person in her family to follow a legal path, following in the footsteps of her great-great-grandfather, Ernest Windle, who was the first judge on Catalina.

With WFBM, Bray marks the beginning of a career 20 years in the making. After graduating from Avalon High School, she received her bachelor of arts in political science in 2009 from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She began law school that August. Three years later, in April 2012, Bray received her juris doctorate, with a business emphasis, from California Western School of Law in San Diego. Bray then took the California Bar Exam in July 2012, passing it the first time.

In December 2012, she was sworn in as a member of the California State Bar. Soon thereafter, Bray was offered her position at Walsworth Franklin Bevins & McCall. As an associate, she has worked on a variety of cases, including those involving individuals from the Island.

She said her plans for the future are to continue to develop and hone her skills as an attorney. Additionally, she said she is excited to work with the community of Catalina to meet all their legal needs.

Bray plans to combine her knowledge and familiarity of the Island, with its unique community and local needs, with the vast resources available to WFBM. Contact Bray at kbray@wfbm.com, or visit the WFBM website at www.wfbm.com.
