The Catalina Island Company and the Inland Boatmen’s Union of the Pacific reached an agreement following the Memorial Weekend strike on the Island.
The Island Company and the IBU have issued the following joint statement:
“By its nature, collective bargaining is a process of give and take. The Island Company and the Union bargained in good faith and each compromised to reach an agreement that works for both sides and allows the ocean tours to continue for the benefit of island visitors and residents alike, and ultimately the entire city.”
The strike was brief. Catalina boatmen were back at work Tuesday morning, May 28.
