Catalina Express, Catalina Realtors post first tie of season

Bravo’s Landscaping and Hamilton Cove Real Estate opened the night for Catalina Co Ed Softball. Bravo’s Landscaping’s Sebastian Sanchez hit a solo home run in the top of the first. Bravo’s Landscaping added three more runs in the second. After two quick outs Tyler Engel hit a solo home run. Two more runs followed off three base hits and a double from Jose Merino.

Hamilton Cove Real Estate got on the board in the bottom of the second with two runs off three base hits. Hamilton Cove Real Estate’s Nick Morones hit a grand slam in the bottom of the third.

Bravo’s Landscaping added another run, off an RBI double from Mario Jimenez in the fourth. Hamilton Cove Real Estate answered with a run in the bottom of the inning. Jose Merino hit a solo inside the park home run for Bravo’s Landscaping in the sixth inning.

Hamilton Cove Real Estate had four more runs cross the plate off the triple from Nick Morones, two base hits and an inside the park home run from Daniel Vega before time was called. The game ended with the score Bravo’s Landscaping 6, Hamilton Cove Real Estate 11.

For Bravo’s Landscaping Jose Merino was two for two. Sebastian Sanchez, Mario Jimenez, Tyler Engel, Viktor Martinez, Edmundo Vega, Tino Rodriguez, Melissa Schafer and Apples Carrillo contributed one hit.

For Hamilton Cove Real Estate Nick Morones and Savannah Felix were three for three. Alex Romero, Daniel Vega and Marisa Morones contributed two hits. Phil Lopez and Julio Chavoya collected one hit.

Catalina Express and Catalina Realtors kept the night exciting with their game. Catalina Express was up first and Marco Gallegos hit a solo home run. Catalina Realtors answered back with two base hits and doubles from Joe Hernandez, Anthony Hernandez, Robert Reyes and Ryan Adkins to score six. J.D. Laflin hit a solo home run for Catalina Realtors in the bottom of the third.

Catalina Express brought home three more runs in the fourth off two base hits, a double from Stephanie Martinez and a triple from Enrique Bravo. Catalina Realtors added one more run off back to back doubles from Robert Reyes and Ryan Adkins. A base hit and back to back doubles from Chuy Sillas and Marco Gallegos brought home two more runs for Catalina Express in the fifth.

With a run home for Catalina Realtors in the bottom of the inning, Marco Gallegos tagged the runner advancing to third, stepped on second and threw to first to turn the triple play to end the inning. Down by three runs, Catalina Express got their last at bat. Enrique Bravo hit an RBI double followed by a base hit and an error to score a total of three to tie the game. With their last at bat, Catalina Realtors left a runner stranded, and the game ended in a tie 9-9.

For Catalina Express Chuy Sillas, Marco Gallegos, Luis Lazaro, Enrique Bravo and Stephanie Martinez collected two hits. Leo Aguilar, Santiago Martinez, Paul Daniel Romo, Margery Williams and Judy Quarnstrom had one hit.

For Catalina Realtors, Robert Reyes, Ryan Adkins and Jimmy Felix IV were two for two. J.D. Laflin, Joe Hernandez, Anthony Hernandez, Jimmy Felix III and Maddie Hiniker contributed one hit.

The final game of the night was between Straight Up Builders and Coyote Joe’s. Straight Up Builders opened the game with a run off two base hits. Coyote Joe’s Gilbert Hernandez started it off with an inside the park home run. Four base hits, a fielders choice and a double from Ryan Hinkley scored six.

Ryan Hinkley hit a double for Coyote Joe’s in the second, but was left stranded. Straight Up Builders tied it up in the third with five runs off a walk, three base hits, a double from Chuy Sillas and a home run from Brandon Franco. Straight Up Builders took the lead in the fourth when Chuy Sillas hit a three RBI inside the park home run.

In the fifth inning Straight Up Builders had an epic rally consisting of two errors, a walk, five base hits, doubles from Brandon Franco (two), James Hall, Chuy Sillas and Jim Hinkley, a three RBI home run from Juan Hernandez and a two RBI home run from Weston Leonhardi, for a total of thirteen crossing the plate. Ryan Hinkley hit a double and scored for Coyote Joe’s in the bottom of the fifth. The game ended with the score Coyote Joe’s 7, Straight Up Builders 22.

For Coyote Joe’s Ryan Hinkley was three for three. Ron Bevins collected two hits. Gilbert Hernandez, Elias Romero, Eliu Alvarez, Francisco Bravo and Maria Reyes had one hit.

For Straight Up Builders Chuy Sillas and Briana Morones were four for four. Brandon Franco and Jim Hinkley collected three hits. Juan De La Cruz, James Hall and Tara Russell contributed two hits. Juan Hernandez, Weston Leonhardi, Selina Morones and Christy Flynn had one hit.
