Concordia University Irvine forward, and Avalon native, Savannah Felix-Amoroso was recently named the PacWest Freshman of the Week after a career week.
In a Jan. 18 road win over Point Loma University Nazarene she posted career highs with 11 points, nine rebounds, and 23 minutes played off the bench, finishing one rebound shy of a double-double. Her contributions helped the Eagles snap Point Loma’s 14 game home winning streak.
On Jan. 16, she helped the Eagles beat their old GSAC rival Biola. She contributed 10 points, four rebounds, and a steal in that game.
“I know my role is to be a spark off the bench and to relieve our post players,” said Felix-Amoroso. “My goal every game is to help my team in any way I can in order to win! We have had a really successful week because we are all working together as one.”
She finished the week with 23 total points and 17 rebounds while shooting 66% from the field to help the Eagles move into sole possession of second place in the PacWest.
