On Oct. 20, the City of Avalon in partnership with Avalon Schools rebranded the Fall Festival as the Fall Carnival. This community event was held to help our school and local non-profits to have a space for outreach and to do some much needed fundraising.

Through this event the Avalon Schools was able to make over $12,000 dollars through their carnival games and food booths. Catalina Kid Ventures provided a pumpkin patch and fall picture opportunities, helping them reach financial goals. Other non-profits had information and free crafts to inform carnival goers some extra fun.

The City supplied the booths for all vendors and provided the entertainment for the night. On the Wrigley Stage they had Cirque Lunaire doing aerial acts, followed by The Avalon Park Boys, local skate group, doing tricks off of quarter pipes and grind rails, mini concert by local blues legend Roger Connelly, and ended the night with Cirque Lunaire doing a fire show. The City also had Jim Morey professional pumpkin carver creating a Lancer logo in a pumpkin for one lucky raffle winner. The crowd also had an opportunity to interact with the scarecrow building contest. The whole show was orchestrated by the ring master Jenny Diaz.

The night was an overall success, with the City and the School agreeing to do it again next year.
