The Catalina Kids Fishing Derby keeps the kids reeling back to Catalina. A total of 29 anglers battled for spots to be on the winner’s stairs. The Anglers came from Carlsbad, Newport, San Diego, Texas, Colorado and as far as Kentucky and giving our Avalon kids had a lot to battle against. There were 179 fish caught. The winners were:
Biggest Fish 10 and under:
- 14 ¼ inches – Austin Amoroso, Newport, CA
- 12 ½ inches – Lucius Lichtenhan, Avalon, CA
- 12 inches – Ruben Mullen, Durango, CO and Wesley Prevatt, Avalon, CA
Biggest Fish 11 and over:
- 14 inches – Raina Hain, Carlsbad, CA
- 13 inches – Alincola Petakovich San Diego, CA
- 11 inches – George Petakona, Kentucky
Most Fish Caught 10 and under:
