For the Islander
On Friday, Dec. 20, Maverick Helicopters helped spread holiday cheer to local children in need on Catalina Island. With toys collected through Maverick Helicopters’ Annual Holiday Toy Drive, Santa took to the skies flying a helicopter to Catalina Island. He made a memorable entrance in Avalon, where he distributed gifts and posed for photos with the children. This magical holiday event took place with the help of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Love Catalina Tourism Authority and the City of Avalon.
“We are continuously amazed by the warmth and kindness from people across Southern California during our holiday toy drive,” Ben Villalobos, vice president of business development, Maverick Helicopters. “We are so thankful for the opportunity to give back in this way – putting smiles on faces and bringing joy to these families around the holidays. This event is made possible through the support of our partners and the generosity of the community.”
This annual holiday toy drive, which began in Southern California has expanded this year to include the Las Vegas and Maui locations. Across the three, Maverick Helicopters’ Holiday Toy Drive gathered hundreds of gifts!
